What DNS record types can I look up?

This tool resolves A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, TXT, SOA and CAA records. You can query all at once or filter to a single type.

Is the lookup live?

Yes. Every query runs in real time over DNS-over-HTTPS (Cloudflare), so you see the current published records, not cached or sample data.

What is a TTL?

Time To Live is how long, in seconds, a record may be cached by resolvers. Lower TTLs propagate changes faster; higher TTLs reduce lookups.

Why do some record types show nothing?

Most domains only publish a few types. An empty result simply means the domain has no records of that type — for example, no CAA or AAAA.

What is the difference between A and AAAA records?

A records map a name to an IPv4 address; AAAA records map it to an IPv6 address. A domain can have either or both.

Why can I not see PTR (reverse DNS) here?

PTR records are looked up by IP address, not domain name. Use a dedicated reverse DNS tool for those.
