Is free SSL as secure as paid SSL?
For encryption, yes. Free SSL (Let’s Encrypt) uses the same 256-bit encryption as paid certificates. The difference is the validation level (domain vs organization) and extra features like wildcard coverage, multi-domain support and warranties.
Do I need SSL if I don’t sell anything?
Yes. Google uses HTTPS as a ranking signal and browsers mark HTTP sites as “not secure.” SSL is table stakes for any website, regardless of whether you sell products.
Can I use free SSL if I don’t host with you?
No. Free SSL (Let’s Encrypt) requires servers that support automatic Let’s Encrypt integration. If you host elsewhere, you’ll need a paid SSL certificate from us.
What’s the difference between Domain Validation and Organization Validation?
Domain Validation (DV) verifies you own the domain. Organization Validation (OV) also verifies your company exists and owns the domain, and displays your company name in the certificate details for enhanced trust.
How long does SSL installation take?
For HostCloud hosting customers, free SSL installs automatically within minutes of domain propagation. For paid certificates, DV issues within minutes to an hour after validation, while OV takes 1–3 days for organization verification.
Is there a warranty?
Premium SSL certificates include warranties (₹5,000 to ₹10,00,000 depending on certificate type) that protect customers if a certificate is issued incorrectly and causes a financial loss.
