About down checking
A down check asks whether a website responds to a request. This tool loads the URL from our server and reports the outcome — a 2xx/3xx status means it's up, a 5xx or a failed connection means it's down or erroring.
It checks from a single location (our server), so an "up" result here while the site is down for you usually points to a problem on your side — your ISP, DNS, or a regional outage. For continuous monitoring from many regions, use a dedicated uptime service.

How does it decide up or down?
It loads the URL from our server. A 2xx or 3xx status means it's up; a 5xx error or a failed connection means it's down or erroring.
It's up here but down for me — why?
The check runs from our server. If it's up for us but not you, the cause is usually on your side: your ISP, DNS, or a regional outage rather than the site itself.
Does it check from multiple locations?
No — it checks once from a single vantage point. For continuous, multi-region monitoring use a dedicated uptime service.
Does a 403 or 404 mean down?
No. Those mean the server is up and responding, just refusing or missing that specific page. Only server errors (5xx) and connection failures count as down.
