About BIMI

BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) displays your brand logo next to authenticated email in supporting inboxes. It is a TXT record at selector._bimi.yourdomain.com pointing to an SVG logo and, increasingly required, a VMC (Verified Mark Certificate).

BIMI only works once you enforce DMARC at p=quarantine or p=reject. Prepare the logo as SVG Tiny Portable/Secure, publish this record, and add the VMC so providers like Gmail show the mark.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Got Questions? We Have Answers.

What is BIMI?

BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) displays your brand logo beside authenticated email in supporting inboxes. It is a DNS TXT record pointing to your logo and, usually, a VMC certificate.

What are the requirements for BIMI?

You must enforce DMARC (p=quarantine or p=reject), provide an SVG Tiny Portable/Secure logo over HTTPS, and — for Gmail and others — a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC).

What logo format does BIMI need?

An SVG Tiny 1.2 Portable/Secure (SVG P/S) file, served over HTTPS. Ordinary SVGs exported from design tools usually need conversion to this profile.

Do I need a VMC?

Increasingly, yes. Major providers require a VMC to show your logo. Without one (a= tag), some inboxes will not display it even with a valid record.

Where do I publish the BIMI record?

Create a TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com (or your chosen selector) with the generated v=BIMI1 value.

Why is my logo not showing?

Common causes are DMARC not at enforcement, a missing VMC, or a logo that is not valid SVG P/S. Check each with the VMC Readiness Checker.
