About your IP address
Your public IP address is assigned by your ISP and is how servers on the internet send responses back to you. Every request you make carries it, so any site can see it — which is what this tool reads from our server.
The location shown is derived from public IP registration databases, so it points to your ISP's region rather than your exact address. If you use a VPN or proxy, the IP and location shown will be the VPN's, not yours.

Got Questions? We Have Answers.
Is this my real IP?
Yes — it is the public IP our server sees for your connection, which is the same one every website you visit sees.
Why does the location look off?
IP geolocation maps to your ISP's registered region, not your exact address, so it can be a city or two away. A VPN or proxy will show that server's location instead.
What does my browser reveal?
Your languages, platform, screen size, timezone and hardware hints are sent to sites automatically. We show them here so you can see what's exposed.
Do you store my IP?
No. The lookup happens live and the result is shown only to you; it is not logged by this tool.
